Aristagora VC Mourns the Passing of President & General Partner Takeshi Shinoda

It is with profound sadness that Aristagora VC announces the passing of our President & General Partner, Takeshi Shinoda.

Shinoda-san founded Aristagora with a clear vision: to build a long-term bridge between Japan and Israel by connecting Japanese capital with exceptional Israeli innovation. His leadership, experience, and personal commitment shaped the firm from its inception and established the foundation on which we continue to build today.
Before founding the Aristagora Group, Shinoda-san spent more than 30 years in global financial markets. During his career he held senior leadership positions at Nikko Securities, Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, ING Securities, and BNP Paribas, where he led equity finance and derivatives businesses across Asia. His experience in investment banking, asset management, and private equity earned him the respect of colleagues and investors throughout the region.

In 2020, he co-founded Aristagora VC with the objective of creating one of the first independent Japanese venture capital platforms dedicated to Israeli technology. He believed that innovation transcends geography and worked tirelessly to introduce Israeli entrepreneurs to Japanese strategic partners and institutional investors while creating new opportunities for collaboration between the two countries.

Those who worked alongside Shinoda-san knew him not only as an accomplished investor but also as a thoughtful leader and trusted friend. He approached every partnership with patience, integrity, and genuine curiosity, earning the confidence of founders, limited partners, and colleagues alike.
A quote from Sun Tzu’s The Art of War — “If you know yourself and your enemies, there is no danger in a hundred battles” — reflected the disciplined and thoughtful approach that guided both his investment philosophy and his leadership.

Shinoda-san’s passing is a tremendous loss for all of us at Aristagora VC and for the many entrepreneurs, investors, and partners whose lives he influenced throughout his career.
The entire Aristagora team extends its heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones.
We remain fully committed to the mission he established and will continue building the bridge between Japan and Israel that he envisioned. His values, leadership, and legacy will continue to guide Aristagora for many years to come.
